Liquid robots?
The new insane robot...
Did you know scientists have recently created a liquid robot that can move, merge, split, and shapeshift?
It behaves much more flexibly than traditional robots because it can change its shape and flow through tiny spaces—almost like the T-1000 robot from Terminator 2!
Movement and Features:
Move: The robot can slide, roll, jump, and even climb obstacles. It uses sound waves and magnets to move becuase it is much simpler.
Merge and Split: Two separate robots can merge into one or split into different parts to perform tasks individually.
Shapeshift: It can reshape itself to squeeze through small gaps or reassemble after passing through tight spaces.
Self-healing: If broken apart, pieces can reconnect by themselves.
Controlled by magnets: Scientists can control its motion externally using magnetic fields.
Materials and How It’s Made:
The robot is made from gallium, a soft metal that melts just above room temperature.
Tiny magnetic particles (usually made of neodymium, iron, and boron) are mixed into the gallium.
This combination creates a "magnetoactive liquid", meaning the liquid metal can be steered and reshaped by magnets.
In short:
It’s like a small, magnetic, shapeshifting blob that can move on its own, transform for different tasks, merge with others, and repair itself if split.
